Schaeffler and Porsche aim for next WEC title in the desert

The season finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will be held in the desert state of Bahrain next weekend. Following the win of the manufacturers’ championship, the aim now is to clinch the second WEC title as well. In the drivers’ standings, the Porsche trio Bernhard/Hartley/Webber has an advantage of twelve points.
The circuit built in 2004, with a large number of long straights and narrow turns, poses a special challenge to the drivers. Both the drivers and cars are put to an extreme test from the first to the last second of the 6-hour race. The high demands of the WEC perfectly match the qualities that Schaeffler defines for its production technologies as well. There is hardly a tougher test lab for developing and proving future hybrid systems.
